(Phnom Penh): ABA Bank has been recognised as Cambodia’s No. 1 bank in Forbes’ inaugural World’s Top Performing Banks 2026 ranking, placing the Bank 31st globally among Lower Mid-Size Banks and among the world’s top-performing banking institutions.

The recognition marks a significant milestone for ABA Bank and provides a global benchmark for the strength, resilience and quality of its financial performance.

Produced by Forbes in partnership with market research firm Statista, the World’s Top Performing Banks 2026 is based on objective financial data across four key dimensions: profitability; growth and earnings quality; capital and funding resilience; and asset quality and efficiency.

To ensure meaningful comparisons between banks of different scales, eligible institutions are grouped into six tiers according to total assets.

ABA Bank is classified in the Lower Mid-Size Banks tier, comprising banks with between USD 10-20 billion in assets. Within this global peer group, ABA Bank ranks 31st worldwide and No. 1 in Cambodia.

The ranking places ABA among the 500 top-performing banks from 89 countries recognised in Forbes’ inaugural global assessment.

The recognition reflects the strength of ABA Bank’s financial fundamentals and its ability to combine strong profitability and sustained growth with sound capital and funding resilience, asset quality and operational efficiency. It also underscores the Bank’s position as the leading financial institution in Cambodia and demonstrates the competitiveness of the country’s banking sector on the international stage.

“We are honoured to be recognised by Forbes as Cambodia’s No. 1 bank in its inaugural World’s Top Performing Banks ranking. Being assessed among banks from around the world using objective financial performance indicators makes this recognition particularly meaningful,” stated AskhatAzhikhanov, Chief Executive Officer at ABA Bank.

“This achievement reflects the strength of our business and the consistency of our performance, but it also represents something broader. It is the result of the trust of millions of customers, the dedication of our people, and our continued focus on building a strong, resilient and forward-looking bank. We are proud to see ABA’s performance recognised on a global stage, and we remain committed to raising the bar even further,” he concluded.

Looking ahead, ABA Bank will continue to strengthen the foundations behind its long-term performance by investing in its people, technology and capabilities, while delivering innovative, secure and accessible financial solutions for customers and contributing to the continued development and resilience of Cambodia’s financial sector.
